Hot Water System Pricing
Electric Storage Hot Water Systems – Pricing & Options
There are many electric storage hot water systems on the market, with well-known brands including Dux, Rinnai, Thermann, Vulcan, Aquamax and Rheem.
Most standard electric storage units are built in a similar way. They use a mild steel tank lined with baked enamel, and are available in sizes ranging from 25 litres up to 315 litres. Over time, this enamel lining slowly breaks down, which typically gives these systems a lifespan of around 12 to 15 years, depending on usage and water conditions.
After more than 40 years in the hot water industry, we’ve found that the Rheem Aquamax range consistently lasts longer than most alternatives. Just as importantly, Rheem is a stable, long-standing manufacturer, so you can be confident that their 10-year tank warranty will be honoured if ever needed.
Every installation we carry out follows the same standard – all valves are replaced with new ones as part of the job. This helps ensure reliability from day one and avoids potential warranty issues down the track.
Standard electric storage systems (fully installed)
Including plumbing, electrical connection and removal of the old unit, pricing generally ranges from $1,799 to $2,299, depending on tank size and installation requirements.
Premium Option – Rheem Stellar (Stainless Steel)
The Rheem Stellar range is the exception. These units are available in sizes from 50 litres to 315 litres, but instead of an enamel-lined mild steel tank, they use a high-grade stainless steel tank.
Stainless steel tanks can last significantly longer – in some cases up to 25 years – and Rheem backs these systems with a 12-year manufacturer warranty covering manufacturing faults.
Rheem Stellar systems (fully installed)
Including plumbing, electrical connection and removal of the old unit, pricing typically ranges from $1,899 to $2,669, depending on size and installation requirements.
